Baltimore Ravens:
Coming off a BYE, the Ravens rolled over the Browns last weekend, despite a second quarter effort that brought the Browns only five points away from the Ravens. The Browns have long been seen as the punching bag of the NFL, an easy win, but their defense is actually pretty good; not that that fact stopped the Ravens offense at all.The Ravens host the Raiders next week. While the Raiders have shown sparks of brilliance, their mistakes still define their games...even if those mistakes come in the form of turnovers instead of penalties. If the Ravens injury-riddled defense can hold off enough of Carson Palmer's surprisingly good passing attacks, Joe Flacco and Ray Rice will get their points.
Cincinnati Bengals:
After a heart-pounding finish against the Broncos last weekend that crushed many Bengals fans (or Peyton Manning haters), they will have to rally quickly before they play the Giants at home this weekend; both teams looking to redeem themselves in a mighty way after losing close games. The key to the Bengals' offense in simple: Dalton to Green. And no matter how obvious this is...no one can stop it! Against a marginal Giants secondary, expect great things out of Andy Dalton. The running game, eh, maybe not. The Giants do have one of the best defensive lines in football, as seen by many people actually knowing the names of three of them off the top of their heads!
Cleveland Browns:
Another week, another heart-break. Which is strange; I'm surprised Cleveland fans still have a heart for this team! That isn't fair to say completely, but as the league's perpetually growing team continues to have horrendous seasons, you have to ask yourself "When will they finally be better?"They have a BYE this week, but they may need two BYE weeks to adequately prepare for a firey Cowboys offense that, while extremely turnover-prone, always somehow finds a way to come back later on. The Browns will have to use Trent Richardson effectively, as Dallas sports a surprisingly tremendous secondary.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Controversy aside, and whether or not the Steelers beat the Giants AND "the referees" last weekend, the fact is that Pittsburgh will be riding the momentum into Monday night, wherein the constant theme of the 2012 season dictates that the Steelers will pummel the Chiefs at home amidst the cheering throngs of Pittsburgh...and Philly, seeing as how the Eagles fans may start jumping ship soon. What is there really to say? Show up to the game and you'll win, courtesy of a myriad of giveaways by the Chiefs? You can try and rationalize the outcome of a game, and you can be nice about it and keep up the cliche "They're a good team, yeah, we'll have to bring our all", but the 2012 Chiefs have been horrendous so far. The Steelers will win this game. End of story. Unless some divine intervention occurs, in which case, that's the biggest headline next week.
