AFC South- Week 10

Houston Texans:
Sporting one of the most complete teams in football, led by one of the most effective rushing attacks, slightly crumbling under the weight of injuries; this describes the Houston Texans. Not to be misled, the Texans have had an excellent season so far; the best in franchise history. Andre Johnson is young again, J.J. Watt is a god among linemen, and Arian Foster is just doing what he’s done before.
However, this week’s Game of the Week pits the 7-1 Texans against the 7-1 Bears. Oh yeah, this game is going to rock hard. And as a Houston fan myself, I can’t say I’m totally confident. For one, the Texans have proven to be less effective during primetime. Second, the Bears defense has had its way against opponents the last few weeks. Third, injuries. The Texans are an amazing team already, but they’ll have to step it up, get to Cutler to upset him and force bad throws, and avoid interceptions. Urlacher is on the prowl again…

Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars:
Oh wow, have the Colts stepped it up tremendously from the preseason when everyone thought they were starting too much from scratch to be in playoff contention this season…and that is exactly what Indianapolis is currently in the middle of! Andrew Luck may not be as prolific as his rookie brother Robert Griffin III for some reason, but Luck has flown under the radar to emerge as possibly one of the best rookie quarterbacks this season. Tannehill has been doing the exact same thing.
As the Colts are headed for a playoff appearance, it’s looking more and more like the Jaguars will miss out once again on the playoffs. Fortunately, they aren’t the New York Jets, so their struggles at the quarterback position hasn’t been too big of a deal for many to notice. Be it by injuries or by lack of skill, Jacksonville just can’t seem to break into the playoffs, despite having one of the best running backs in the league in Jones-Drew, who has been injured himself.
While this game has all the makings of a major upset, I doubt the Jaguars will win. Then again, maybe Luck will get the prime-time jitters or something.

Tennessee Titans:
Matt Hasselbeck’s time is wearing thin with Jake Locher being more and more ready to return. And while the playoffs may be a dream for the Titans at this point, Hasselbeck has done quite a job in trying to keep the underachieving Titans in check. For example, Chris Johnson, who had a horrendous first few games, has finally come back into his own. Apparently, the Bills’ acquisition of Mario Williams has only made the team a devious concoction to magically boost the performance of opposing running backs.
The Titans fly to Miami to play the Miami Dolphins this weekend. With Tannehill slowly improving, the Titans defense will have to play big to contain him, as well as Reggie Bush, who will be looking to make a statement after so many weeks of little excitement. Especially against the Titans, who have allowed many running backs to shine.
