The Patriots’ surprisingly deep rushing attack has gotten a little less deep, at least for the next four weeks.
Per multiple reports, rookie running back Brandon Bolden has been suspended four games for violation of the league’s policy regarding performance-enhancing substances.
The specific nature of the violation is not yet known.
Bolden, undrafted from Mississippi, has appeared in six games this season, rushing for 234 yards and two touchdowns. He had 16 carries for 137 yards against the Bills on September 30.
The suspension starts immediately. It’s unclear whether Bolden exercised his right to appeal the suspension, and when the violation occurred.
