Tebow Out...But Still Suited Up?

By: Colin Cook

If you have been keeping track on the New York Jets much this week, Tebow has been dealing with two broken ribs that had eventually kept him from playing at all during the Jets' Thanksgiving Day Blowout Sale; the same contest that will end up giving a brand new meaning to the term 'Black Friday' as Jets fans were humiliated by the tune of FIVE second quarter touchdowns, three of those occurring in less than a minute of game time, coming off two comical Jets turnovers.

So comical, in fact, that any sports network will be using them for highlight (or maybe 'lowlight') reels for years to come.

And all this time, Tebow stood on the sideline, staring into the abyss...trying to make it blink first with all the time on his hands.

Tebow had been ruled out of the game with his aforementioned rib issues, but strangely enough, head coach Rex Ryan still decided to dress the second-year quarterback, and have him standing up on the sideline, as if giving the illusion that he wasn't out. What makes that idea more damning, or hilarious, is that third-string quarterback, Greg McElroy, didn't dress himself.

So what exactly is Rex Ryan doing here? Trying to bring all ethnicities, classes and ages of New York together in the simultaneous chants for 'TEBOW' all night long? Well, Ryan isn't doing much to win many games, at least not games that matter.

Whether Rex had Tebow dressed because he wanted to incite more anti-Sanchez sentiment, or because he wanted, in the event of an injured Sanchez, to play a Tebow with broken ribs, it doesn't matter much at this point, now that the Jets' playoff hopes have all but evaporated from the heated pan of Jets fans.

To be honest, I was surprised there were so many Jets fans out there in full regalia!
